ESABContactLars Erik Stridh larserik.stridh@esab.seESAB was founded in 1904 by Oscar Kjellberg, the inventor of the covered electrode for shielded metal arc welding and is now a world leading producer of welding consumables and Equipment for welding and cutting. ESAB has production facilities for welding consumables, equipment and cutting systems in Europe, the Americas and in Asia producing some 250 000 tons of covered electrodes, solid wires, cored wires, strips and welding fluxes yearly. The yearly turnover is approximately 980 MEURO and the group has 7900 employees world wide of which 3700 are stationed in Europe. ESAB has a strong focus on quality and all production facilities have certification according to ISO 9000. Environmental aspects are becoming increasingly important and ESAB has implemented a company policy stating that an overall goal in all development work and production should be to aim towards a sustainable world. Within Europe ESAB has six R&D centres for consumables development, welding equipment and cutting systems. Locations are Sweden, The Netherlands, UK, Poland and Germany with a total of approximately 250 highly qualified researchers, development engineers, test welders and laboratory personnel. |
