Reis Robotics is one of the leading suppliers of robots, robot systems and control systems to the European market, and also sells in the USA and Asia. Reis standard robot units cover a variety of kinematic configurations and payloads ranging from 6 - 300 kg. Up to 24 axes per robot can be driven. Furthermore, Reis provides a complete set of standard peripheral units for its customers: rotary tables, rotary/tilting tables, linear traversing units, tailstock turning devices and orbital positioners that cover a payload range from 200 - 6300 kg. In addition to the products in the field of robotics Reis also produces trim presses and mould spotting and try-out presses, that can be delivered in several variants and sizes.

The standard robots and standard peripheral units are put together for many applications to form complete automation systems. Typical applications include part handling, arc welding and painting. The complexity of the installations range from simple production cells comprising a single robot and a positioning unit for welding, up to complete production lines with several robots and the necessary peripheral devices for interlinking the robots. The control of the robots and peripheral devices is achieved using the in-house developed ROBOTstarV, which is now in its 5th generation.

The company's R&D departments are located with production and the central application, sales and marketing divisions in Obernburg (Germany).

As a member of VDMA association, Reis is involved in the standardisation work of ISO and DIN.

Involvement in NOMAD

By the research and development work carried out in the NOMAD project Reis Robotics wants to get experience in the automated welding of large steel fabrications. As already stated in the project overall objectives this subject is estimated as getting much more important in the future.

Reis wants to open a new field of applications in the area of automated welding of large steel structures. The future role of Reis will be to deliver such systems as developed in NOMAD as the main responsible integrator and to provide its customers with turnkey systems for automated welding.

It is generally very important for Reis to make accessible new application cases, as it is the strength of Reis to provide solutions in specialised and technologically high sophisticated areas. This has been and will also be in future one of the main business goals of Reis.
